Oregon car accident leaves man in critical condition

There are many causes of car accidents. Some are caused by inattention or distraction, while others may be caused by being under the influence of alcohol or some other drug. Depending on the circumstances, the person police believe caused the accident may face some sort of consequence as a result. While the charges and consequences may vary, leaving the scene of the car crash could make the situation worse. One man in Oregon has been hospitalized after a car accident in which the driver allegedly ran from the scene.

The accident happened around 10 p.m. one night in mid-September. While it is unclear what may have caused the accident, police claim that a car slammed into a pole. Witnesses say that the driver left the scene.

Additional witness reports indicate that a 30-year-old male passenger exited the vehicle before collapsing. The man was transported to a local hospital where he is in critical condition. His injuries are described as life-threatening. The accident remains under investigation, and police are requesting that anyone with information contact them.

Even a car accident that may appear to be relatively minor could result in serious injuries that could have lifelong physical, emotional and financial ramifications. If the man survives, he may face extended medical treatment and rehabilitation. Additionally, he may be unable to return to work, resulting in lost wages. Many people in Oregon who have been in a similar situation have sought financial relief in an civil court. If the victim can prove that the driver's negligence caused the accident, a court could decide to award him with damages to cover medical expenses, lost wages and pain and something, among others.
