As a pedestrian, you would like to think that if you ever get hurt when you’re out in public, someone will help you. If someone hits you, you’d expect the driver to stop and help. If the driver leaves the scene, it can mean a delay in getting treatment and sets you up to be able to file a lawsuit for compensation.

Your attorney can help if you’ve been involved in a hit-and-run accident, because you’ll need information about your medical care and the accident itself to make your case against the driver. That’s what this teen’s family could do if they choose. He was left in the road after a driver fled the scene where he was struck.

A woman suspected in the hit-and-run accident has had her bail set following the incident where she hit a 17-year-old boy. According to the news, the 27-year-old woman hit the teen while allegedly driving with a suspended license. The Yakima County sheriff’s office released information stating that the accident took place a few miles south of U.S. Highway 97. When the deputy arrived on scene, the 17-year-old boy was lying in the roadway and had to be rushed to the local community hospital in Toppenish. The teen has been released from the hospital at this point.

The woman accused of the hit-and-run accident had been driving a 1990 Toyota Camry, according to the news, but it was badly damaged during the crash. The windshield, the deputy reports, had a large hole in the middle that is consistent with hitting a person. The woman’s license had been suspended in Oregon, drawing questions as to why she was driving in the state.
