Oregon workers' compensation can help when injury happens

There has been an unfortunate incident in another state that some in Oregon may find interesting. In the workplace accident, an employee of FedEx was injured seriously. Now, as he works to return to his normal life -- or at least as much as is possible considering the severity of his injuries -- he is seeking the help of his state's workers' compensation program.

According to a report, the man was at the wheel of his FedEx truck when he was involved in a car accident. It appears that another vehicle ran a stop light, causing it to smash into the delivery truck. The violent impact sent the delivery driver out of his truck, which continued on, unmanned, causing several other crashes.

The delivery driver suffered serious injury in the incident. The workplace accident caused brain damage that has left the man unable, doctors believe, to return fully to the life he once lived. Though the final results of his recovery are unclear, his injuries may result in the need for lifetime workers' compensation benefits to be paid.

A person can receive lifetime benefits from the workers' compensation program in Oregon if they qualify under the program's rules. Qualifications include, among other things, the inability to return to gainful employment after a workplace accident. If this is the case for workers in our state, they may wish to consider obtaining information about workers' compensation to ensure that they are able to achieve the best possible outcome after an unfortunate incident like the one which happened to the FedEx worker in another state.
