Oregon car accident sends 3 to hospital

Oregon police are seeking information from the public in an effort to determine exactly who was at fault for a recent serious crash. The multiple-vehicle car accident happened during a hail storm on Highway 26. It ended with three people, including a 7-month-old child, being taken to local area hospitals.

The crash happened when an SUV driver lost control of his vehicle during the storm. Though he was traveling west when he lost control, the vehicle spun sideways before smashing into the front of an oncoming car. After the initial impact, the SUV crashed head-on into another car in the eastbound lanes. Eventually the SUV rolled onto its side on the south side of the highway.

Those injured in the car accident included the son of the driver of the SUV, who is an infant. Two others, including a passenger in the second vehicle struck, were taken to hospitals for medical issues. At least one person was listed in serious condition after the crash.

The driver of the SUV apparently told Oregon police that he lost control of his vehicle after it was struck from behind by another car. He described being hit by a white pickup truck that left the scene of the accident as it happened. In order to confirm this report, police are asking for any eyewitnesses to the car accident to come forward. This information may help authorities to determine exactly who was responsible for the injury crash.

The person who is found to have caused the crash may face both criminal charges and personal injury liability. In a car accident such as this one, victims may be able to make a claim against the driver at fault for damages that include lost wages and pain and suffering. Though not always available, it may do well for an injured victim to review all applicable rules as they work to determine if they are able to make a claim for their losses.
