Few people expect that a car accident will disrupt their normal routines as they go about their days. However, one Oregon town became the sight of a two-vehicle car accident that happened one recent fall night on a local roadway. Two victims of the car accident suffered serious injuries. They were taken to a local hospital for medical treatment. In addition the driver of the car that may have caused the crash was seriously injured in the incident.

According to an early report, the victim’s car was travelling southbound on a highway when he was hit from behind by another car. The impact caused the victim’s vehicle to leave the road and enter the shoulder. It rolled over, eventually coming to a stop on its side.

Oregon officials are continuing to investigate the injury-causing car accident. As they do, they will seek information as to what happened to initiate this unfortunate crash. They may ask for interviews from survivors and eyewitnesses as a part of the inquiry into the car accident. This information is sometimes used by investigators to re-create an accident scene.

If the investigation concludes that the car accident happened due to the actions of the driver that struck the vehicle in front of him, that person may face civil liability. This liability could come under Oregon’s personal injury laws that allow some victims of car accidents to seek damages for their injuries. Though not available for every victim of a car accident, in some cases victims are entitled to an award to compensate them for the financial and other related losses incurred as a result of being involved in such an incident.
