Fatal Oregon car accident leaves woman dead

For some drivers in Oregon, traveling behind a slower vehicle on a small, rural road can be stressful. In these situations, some attempt to pass the vehicle in front of them, even without a passing lane. Choosing to pass in a no passing zone may have been the cause of a fatal car accident that occurred recently on Highway 228.

According to reports, a pickup truck was traveling west on the highway recently when he suddenly entered the oncoming lane. Police believe that the driver may have been trying to pass the car in front of him, despite the fact that they were in a no passing zone. As he came into the lane, he collided with an SUV in the eastbound lane.

The impact was significant enough to deploy the airbags in both vehicles. Unfortunately, airbags were not enough to save the life of the SUV driver. The driver of the pickup truck was taken to an Oregon hospital but is expected to survive the car accident.

As is the case in many such crashes, police are investigating the scene to make the final determination as to what happened that tragic morning. As a part of their investigation, they are seeking eyewitnesses who may have seen the crash. Speaking with these people may offer some answers as to why the pickup crossed into oncoming traffic.

The family of the deceased car accident victim has been left with the terrible task of trying to come to terms with their loved one's death. Above that grief they must also face the task of planning funeral arrangements, which can be very expensive. Help may be available however, as the family may be able to find some relief for their expenses and pain and suffering through a civil claim.
