Spencer Aldrich is a Midwesterner born and raised, but is proud to have called Oregon home for the better part of 10 years. After growing up in Columbus, Ohio, and obtaining his B.A at Miami University, he came west. He worked in a warehouse for a year after college...loading and unloading trucks and managing freight...before going to Law School at Chapman University in southern California.
At Chapman, Mr. Aldrich discovered a passion for helping people. In addition to the "standard" law curriculum, he studied animal law, bankruptcy, and estate planning. He especially enjoyed his elder law clinic, where (with the guidance of professors) he represented elderly community members who needed help with their estates, health, and safety.
After law school, Mr. Aldrich moved to Oregon in 2009. He worked for a small business up on the mountain that wanted to be sure it was treating its employees right and complying with the law. He then worked for a large education company that provided free after-school tutoring all across the North West. Eventually, Mr. Aldrich found himself working for one of the major insurance companies. He was a manager for years in the legal department, overseeing a large team of paralegals, before returning to practice as an attorney for the insurance company.
For almost 4 years, Mr. Aldrich defended that insurance company and its insureds in both Workers' Compensation and personal injury matters. This experience has given him tremendous insight into the "other side." He knows how the insurance companies operate, how they evaluate claims, and how they make decisions. He knows their playbook. However, overtime he found that work to be hollow. He remembered that he went to law school because he wanted to help people, and decided he wanted to get back to that core goal.
He joined Karen and Steve Schoenfeld in 2017, and has happily been representing workers, and others who have been injured, ever since. Mr. Aldrich uses his knowledge and experience as a defense attorney to fight for his clients.
When not practicing law, Spencer enjoys exploring the mountain on his motorcycle, hiking, baking, and a good book.
