Oregon workers' compensation program helps injured man

An unfortunate incident happened recently on an Oregon farm. The Forest Grove area farm was staffed by people working in the fields harvesting vegetables such as beets. Unfortunately, one of those who were working in the fields suffered injury when his leg became caught in a farm machine. The injury may result in the man making a claim to our state's workers' compensation program.

According to a report about the accident, the man was harvesting beets just prior to the incident. As the machine that picks the beets worked, it became clogged with vegetable and dirt. The man who was injured on the job had taken steps to fix the large machinery. To do this, he climbed on top of the equipment. This is when his leg became stuck.

As the incident unfolded, the man's leg became entangled in the conveyor belt of the machine. His fellow employees worked to save his extremity as rescue workers arrives. Once they were there, they took him to a local hospital where he would begin the recovery process. Because of the cost of this medical care, a workers' compensation claim may be a good choice for the injured man.

Workers' compensation is an insurance program that was created for the benefit of workers in Oregon that have been inured or even killed on the job. By making a claim to the program, injured workers are able to receive funds to help pay for medical costs and the costs associated with recovery. The payments are especially important for those who are unable to return to their jobs due to the injuries that they suffered.
