Semi-truck collides with motorcycle in fatal Portland crash

Many Portland area residents like to take advantage of the nice weather and scenery by taking to the roads on their bicycles or motorcycles. Unfortunately, we know that these pleasant outings sometimes take a sudden turn for the worst. Being involved in a bicycle or motorcycle accident can change your life, or even end it, in an instant.

Earlier this month, a motorcyclist was killed in a head-on truck accident in Portland.

The crash occurred in the evening when the motorcyclist, a 56-year-old man, was traveling westbound on Marine Drive near Portland International Airport. A semi-truck was traveling eastbound on Marine Drive when it collided with the motorcycle in the 7000 block. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Although the cause of the accident was not available at the time of the media report, the police investigation was ongoing.

After someone is injured or killed in an accident, it is very important that a thorough investigation is completed. If negligence was involved in the crash, the survivors are entitled to pursue a personal injury or wrongful death claim.

Of course, no amount of money can ever replace a life lost. Wrongful death compensation is useful to provide assistance for funeral costs, medical expenses, lost wages or other losses incurred as the result of the tragic accident. When such finances are taken care of, the family has a few less things to worry about as they begin the trying process of mourning the loss of a loved one.
